NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson confirmed a report that next season the league will begin handing out fines to players that take part in "theatrical flopping," according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com. League officials will report the incidents for review.
It has been speculated that league officials may impose a rule similar to that of technical fouls which includes a one-game suspension once a player commits his 16th offense.
Those players whose styles will be most effected will be foreign players like Manu Ginobili, Sasha Vujacic and Anderson Varejao. I'm sure those guys and others that flop will have to learn how to play actual defense - oh the humanity. It will be interesting to see if these guys step up and learn defense or have their minutes significantly decrease.
